Renewable energy certificate trading, enabling green power to be utilised in industry

Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) and Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs)

We trade ROCs and REGOs in the UK market to allow energy users in industry to access green power for their processes. ROCs are useful to suppliers who are incentivised to support the growth of renewable generation. REGOs demonstrate that electricity has been generated from renewable sources. Suppliers use REGOs to show customers the renewable content of electricity they’ve supplied each year.

Guarantees of Origin (GoOs)

GoOs are the equivalent EU system to REGOs in the UK. All EU member states must have a GoOs scheme.
